The New American Theatre / Circus Theatricals produciton of MacbethThe New American Studio Ensemble is the resident acting company at The New American Theatre.

Membership is by audition only.

Members participate in artistic director and Julliard graduate Jack Stehlin's exclusive weekly Advanced Scene Study for Studio Ensemble members only every Saturday 10am - 1 pm or Robert Cicchini's On-Camera TV and Film Studio on Tuesdays 7:30 - 10:30 pm. The studios are inspired by the teachings of Stanislavsky. The Studio is not limited to the actor's work in the theatre. We also seek to interpret the actor's challenge on film and in television.

Members also collaborate on the production of new and classic plays in the Studio Ensemble Lab Series, and are invited to audition for all New American Theatre mainstage productions.

Membership includes one of the following ongoing Studios :

Ensemble members participate in a weekly ongoing scene study and technique Studio. The Studio is lead by Artistic Director Jack Stehlin (Juilliard graduate, SAG Award nominee, Roy Till from Showtime’s Weeds and more) and Alfred Molina (Guildhall graduate, three times Tony Award nominee, SAG Award nominee, TV/film star Spiderman 2, Frida and more).

(Mondays 7:30 PM – 10:30 PM)

Explore the teachings of Stanislavsky through technique exercises and scenes. Jordan Lund received his training at Carnegie-Mellon, has worked On and Off Broadway, made over eighty appearances on television and film, coaches and teaches acting in LA and NY. Jordan is an associate artist of The New American Theatre. Robert Cicchini has over 100 Film/TV credits, including Godfather III and War of the Worlds. He earned an MFA from NYU and is a founding associate artist of The New American Theatre.

Celebrating seventeen years of residence in Los Angeles, The New American Theatre (formerly Circus Theatricals) has enjoyed critical acclaim, awards and nominations from the Los Angeles Times, LA Drama Critics Circle, Back Stage West, LA Weekly, LA Stage Alliance Ovations, and Dramalogue.

How to Join
For a monthly fee of $175, actors belong to an award-winning theatre company, AND participate in a weekly professional acting studio. If you are interested in joining The New American Studio Ensemble, you are required to audition / interview. Auditions are usually held by appointment on Saturday afternoons as well as other designated times throughout the week.

We ask for a 2 minute (or less) monologue.
